I am an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR), Campus Guarapuava, Brazil, and a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Environmental Science and Technology at UTFPR, campus Curitiba.
My research explores how water, soil, vegetation, and climate interact. I work at the intersection of ecohydrology, climate change, soil erosion, hydrological modeling, and environmental monitoring, with a particular interest in developing affordable sensor technologies to better understand and manage water resources.
I hold a PhD in Water Resources Engineering from Lund University, Sweden, and the University of São Paulo (EESC-USP), where I also earned my MSc in Hydraulic Engineering and Sanitation. My academic journey includes Environmental Engineering at UFES, international study experiences at Drexel University and Yale University in the United States, an MBA in Project Management, and a specialization in Distance Education.
In recognition of my research, I received the 2024 Green Talents Award, granted by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research, honoring emerging researchers advancing environmental sustainability. I also bring practical experience in environmental planning and sanitation, having contributed to 11 Municipal Basic Sanitation Plans and the State Solid Waste Management Plan for Espírito Santo.
Through research, teaching, and international collaboration, I aim to advance scientific understanding and develop practical, accessible solutions for water security, sustainable agriculture, and climate resilience.
